DWEAL
Matjaž (Matt) Goričan - vocals, guitar
Vasja (Van) Bajde - guitar
Denis Jančič - drums
Martin Počkar - bass guitar
These four guys have thrown away the rule books for Rock, Metal and Pop, simply blurred the lines between the genres, named it Drop Rock and formed the band Dweal.
Their sound is particularly defined by strong, unique vocals, sing-along-choruses and low-tuned guitars, which charge Dweal’s “lullabies” with heavy breakdown riffs.
Dweal formed at the end of 2005 when singer and guitarist Matt (Matjaž) finally found musicians who shared the same view of and taste in music. The guys are attracting much attention from media and event organizers as their reputation grows. They have already rocked the stage with renowned artists such as Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying and played at major festivals (including the Exit Festival, the biggest festival in Southern Europe).
“Dweal is about music. Why do we do it? Because we believe in it. As long as there are people who are willing to share their dreams, hopes, love and passion for music with us, we will continue sharing our music, hopes, dreams and experience with them. Since we are all human, this might last for ever,” say the band members. “We didn’t just decide to do this, it arose as a form of self-expression. Sometimes we do it to let off some steam, sometimes to gather new energy. And it’s always mutual,” they add.
