Rock Legend Ronnie James Dio Has Died
Singer and heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio died on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 7:45 AM after battling stomach cancer, according to an online post by his wife Wendy Dio. He was 67.
Rumors spread over this internet this weekend that Dio had died yesterday, but the truth was that he was in the hospital and not doing well.
After quelling the rumors yesterday about the singer’s death, his wife updated Dio’s official site his passing today.
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.
